I hate packing lunches. My oldest, Connor, has recently declared himself “done” with the whole lunchbox deal and is having a rebellious fling with the food truck that rolls up to his high school. I think he’s barely eating anything other than french fries. My other two boys make a decent stab at their lunch boxes, but Mike is an inveterate swapper. At least his school has him sitting at the No Peanut table…
This is my youngest boy Mike’s lunch:
Wellshire Kids turkey baloney, with Pick-a-Pepper sauce in a cool BPA-free dipping container I found at Fresh N Easy, SeaSnax Chipotle flavor, spicy plantain chips (I’m sensing a trend…), applesauce squisher, Annie’s gluten-free snickerdoodle crackers (a.k.a. bunny crackers), and a banana. This lunch is 1 swap-out away from being paleo. Oh yeah, baby.
Kyle’s lunch:
Gluten-free vegetarian chili from Trader Joe’s (I bet money it’s the Amy’s Vegetarian Chili) in a Thermos, fried chickpea sticks from the Indian grocery, bunny crackers, a banana and an apple-carrot squisher. Kyle’s other go-to meal is GF salami with spicy mustard. This is a WAPF/paleo nightmare, but I’m bone dry on inspiration and looking at an empty fridge.
A couple of notes:
- Everything is gluten-free, casein-free and nut-free.
- This is the only soy Kyle gets all month, and it’s non-GMO
- I’m saving up for some LunchBots 🙂
